We believe that one can Worship the Lord Jesus anywhere and at anytime.
He explained this to the Samaritan Woman at the well in John chapter 4.
The one criteria he gave her was that, "...true worshippers will worship the
Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him."
(John 4:19-24)
We also believe that the Lord told us through Paul's writings that we
should not be found as a church, "...forsaking the assembling of ourselves
together, as is the manner of some..." (Hebrews 10:25). Therefore we
have covenanted to assemble together to Worship God in spirit and truth.
We also do not believe that the scriptures teach when we "have to"
worship such as what day or what time. We have chosen Sunday mornings
simply because of two reasons.
One, is because we see that there are some examples throughout the New
Testament that shows that the early church met on the first day of the
week (Sunday).
We also believe that the scriptures teach us that Jesus rose from the dead
on the first day of the week (Sunday). Because of these two reasons we
have chosen to set aside the first day of the week to assemble together
united in our worship of Him!
Sunday Morning Fellowship: Every Sunday morning at 10:00 AM we
assemble together for a time of fellowship and catch up on how each of us
are doing in our day to day lives before we begin to worship Him together.
Sunday Morning Celebration Service: Each Sunday morning at 10:30 AM
we assemble together for a time of worship in spirit and in truth. It is a time
to sing, pray, and to praise a Risen Savior in such a way as to be an
encouragement to us in our day to day lives.
One of the three main purposes for Harvest Oaks is our Worship!
|
In Acts 2:40-47 we see a great example of he first church in action. We have modeled ourselves
after this church. They were deeply involved in the three purposes you see our church involved in,
Fellowship, Worship, and Discipleship!
In verse 46, we see that they met in the temple every day and also met at different times from house
to house. As you can see there's no definite day or time commanded, just that they assembled
together! As for now, we only meet together for Worship on Sunday mornings, but keep checking
back there may be other opportunities to join us for Worship!
Also because of the fact that it says that they ate their food with simplicity of heart, our messages
are called Life Lessons! We study the Bible and only the Bible! In fact, we are told to study the
whole counsel of God (Old Testament and New) and we teach it in such a way as to help us to learn
how to apply it to our daily lives here on Earth today!
In these verses it also says that they had all things in common and later it also says that they ate
their food with gladness. We have a "come as you are dress policy"! We do not put on any facades,
but rather come with a prepared heart to worship the Lord Jesus in spirit and truth!
We would like to personally invite you to come and to Worship with us!
